Why Miression? In 1997-98 when the country xanachoristike administratively with 'Kapodistrias' municipalities -for geographical units that have a sufficient number of inhabitants - our region consists of 6 villages (Xourihti, Tsagarada, Mouresi Kissos, Agios Dimitrios, Anilio with ports in the Milopotamos, Damouchari, St John, etc.) would be called with the name that was 100 years ago MUNICIPALITY of MYRESSION. Finally prevailed vernacular and took the name of the village where the guesthouse Mouresi owned and became Mouresi Municipality.

But that word - we all ask the origin and others say it is derived or from the beautiful "'smell" or the myrrh or the "Myra" (fate) Ionia in Asia Minor. They arrived refugees in these places or end of many ''Mouries" had here or a flower that no longer exists - it was so beautiful sounding tide and that the hostel owners preferred as the passport for the journey we said above.
